Copelouzos Group to invest in Senfluga

DAMCO ENERGY S.A., a Copelouzos Group company, as Purchaser and Snam S.p.A (“Snam”), Enagás Internacional S.L.U. (“Enagas”) and Fluxys S.A. (“Fluxys”), as Sellers, signed a Share Purchase Agreement for the acquisition of a 10% stake in Senfluga Energy Infrastructure Holdings S.A. (SENFLUGA). The closing of the transaction will remain subject to regulatory approval.

SENFLUGA has acquired, following an international tender, 66% of the share capital of Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator S.A. (DESFA). The investment by DAMCO is the consequence of a long and fruitful dialogue between the two parties and has been structured at the same terms and conditions of the acquisition of DESFA by SENFLUGA and in compliance with the applicable regulatory framework.

The shareholders of SENFLUGA are three major European Natural Gas System Operators, namely Italy’s Snam, Spain’s Enagás and Belgium’s Fluxys, which are also shareholders of the company Trans Adriatic Pipeline.

Copelouzos Group is one of the biggest corporate groups in Greece with a special focus in the Energy Sector, in which it is active since 1975.

With this investment, Copelouzos Group demonstrates its confidence in the recovery of the Greek economy and in the country’s enhanced energy role, giving markets a clear signal that Greek businessmen and Greek corporate groups are investing in Greece.

With respect to the above, the Chief Executive Officer of Copelouzos Group, Mr. Christos D. Copelouzos stated: “Living in Greece, we know better the economic situation and the prospects of the country and we have to become an example that will attract foreign investors to also invest in Greece. Our group continues to make considerable investments in the country but what we consider as more important is that leading international companies trust us and cooperate with us, increasing in this manner the foreign direct investments that Greece is so much in need for.”

The Chairman of Senfluga Federico Ermoli said: “The investment by a prominent Greek industrial group such as the Copelouzos Group strengthens SENFLUGA’s roots in the country and shows our commitment to further develop DESFA as a leading gas infrastructure company in the East Mediterranean area for the benefit of both the company and Greece as a whole”.
